The Kansas Department of Commerce places high priority on eliminating suspected program fraud and abuse. Commerce implements policies and procedural safeguards in accordance with the Workforce Investment Act, U.S. Department of Labor Regulations, Kansas Whistleblower's Act, and other applicable State and Federal Laws in furtherance of this goal. These policies apply to State agencies, Local Areas, recipients, subrecipients, contractors, and/or participants.
The Fraud and Abuse Incident Report serves as the official document for reporting instances of fraud, gross mismanagement, funds misapplication, and other instances of known or suspected criminal or related activities. Additionally, the Kansas Whistleblower's Act prohibits reprisal against any employee for reporting fraud or other instances of criminal activity to the appropriate authorities. This page contains Commerce's Policy for Reporting Suspected Program Fraud or Abuse, the Kansas Whistleblower's Act, and associated notification requirements.
